Frigidaire Refrigerator Error Code SH

Frigidaire Refrigerator Error Code SH

If your Frigidaire refrigerator is displaying the SH error code, it indicates a potential issue with the freezer temperature sensor.

Follow these steps for effective troubleshooting:

  1. Unplug and Disconnect:

    • Power off the refrigerator and unplug it from the electrical outlet.
    • Disconnect the freezer temperature sensor from its wire harness.
  2. Resistance Measurement:

    • Use a multimeter to measure the resistance of the sensor.
    • At 0 degrees, the meter should read 84,925 ohms.
    • At 32 degrees, it should measure 32,566 ohms.
    • At room temperature (72 degrees), the reading should be 11,304 ohms.
    • If the measured resistance is less than 10 ohms, replace the sensor.
  3. Sensor Wiring Check:

    • Plug the temperature sensor back in.
    • Measure the resistance through the freezer temperature sensor wires connected to the electronic control board (gray/white wires on the J4A connector).
    • Unplug the J4A connector from the control board and measure resistance through the gray/white wires.
    • The meter should display the same resistance as measured for the temperature sensor.
    • If the sensor wiring shows correct resistance, but the error persists, consider replacing the electronic control board, as it may not accurately detect sensor resistance.
  4. Sensor Wiring Failure:

    • If the meter measures less than 10 ohms of resistance through the sensor wires, identify and repair any wiring failure in the sensor circuit.

By systematically following these steps, you can diagnose and address the SH error code on your Frigidaire refrigerator related to the freezer temperature sensor. Always exercise caution, and if unsure, seek professional assistance.
